Apple Chronicles
This page contains tips and apps I have found useful on the iPhone & iPad. More will be added, so check back.

Printopia is a Mac app which allows you to use Apple's Airprint capability (from your iPhone or iPad) to print to any printer your Mac can see. But the best thing about this Mac app is it also allows you to save your print directly on your Mac as a .pdf or .jpg file. Printopia costs $20.

Make free Ringtones for your iPhone
  • Make iPhone Ringtones using Garage Band
You can make iPhone ringtones with Garage Band using your own creations or a slice of an mp3. In Garage Band, start a new project. Make your music or drag in an mp3 music file. Push the "c" key, then drag the yellow bar to the slice you want for the ringtone (you can also drag the edges to make the slice longer or shorter). Ringtones must be 30 seconds or less. Then from the menu bar select Share > Send ringtone to iTunes. That's it, you are done.
  • Make iPhone Ringtones from Voice Memos
You can also make a ringtone from any Voice Memo recorded on your iPhone. Just sync with iTunes, on your Mac rename the voice memo file as a .mpr (copy it first if you wish), then double click it or drag it to the iTunes Ringtones page. That's it, you are done.
